Cookies Policy
Last updated: October 2026. This policy explains how the Leeway Brothers website uses cookies and similar technologies.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently, provide information to site owners, and improve the user experience.
Websites can also store information in your browser's local storage or session storage. These work in a similar way to cookies, and this policy covers them too. Local storage has no built-in expiry date, so for the entries below we delete anything past its stated duration the next time you visit.
2. How We Use Cookies
The Leeway Brothers website uses cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes. We only use analytics and advertising measurement cookies and storage if you agree to them in our cookie banner. You can change your choices at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in our website footer.
Strictly Necessary
These are needed for the website to work as you would expect. We use them only to remember your cookie choices, so that we do not ask you again on every page.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| leeway-consent (local storage) | Leeway Brothers | Remembers your cookie choices | Until you change them or clear your browser data |
| leeway-cookie-consent (local storage) | Leeway Brothers | An older version of the same choice | Removed when you next make a choice |
Analytics (only with your consent)
These help us understand how visitors interact with our website, and are only used if you accept analytics cookies. Google Analytics recognises your browser across visits using a randomly generated identifier stored in the _ga cookie (pseudonymous, not anonymous) and uses your IP address to estimate your general location without storing it. Google may process this data outside the UK. We do not send it OpenAI's ad click reference. If you send us an enquiry, the campaign information described below is attached to it, so we know which campaign led to it.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga (cookie) | Google Analytics — distinguishes users | 2 years | |
| _ga_<container-id> (cookie) | Google Analytics — maintains session state | 2 years | |
| leeway-attribution (local storage) | Leeway Brothers | The campaign tags (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign and, when supplied, utm_content) and landing page of your first visit and your latest visit, so we know which campaign led to an enquiry | First visit: up to 90 days; latest visit: 30 days |
Advertising Measurement (only with your consent)
These are only used if you accept advertising measurement. They let us see whether our adverts on ChatGPT lead to enquiries. See Advertising Measurement in our Privacy Policy for exactly what is shared with OpenAI.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| __oppref (first-party cookie) | OpenAI | Reference of the ChatGPT advert you clicked to reach our website | 30 days |
| __obref (first-party cookie) | OpenAI | A random reference for your browser | 365 days |
| leeway-oppref (local storage) | Leeway Brothers | Our copy of the ChatGPT advert click reference | 30 days |
| leeway-ad-conversions (local storage) | Leeway Brothers | References of enquiries you sent in the last 7 days, so that if you later withdraw your consent we can cancel their conversions | 7 days |
A first-party cookie is stored under our website's address. These two are set by OpenAI's pixel; when you send an enquiry, we also read them so that the references can be included in the record our server sends to OpenAI. The OpenAI pixel may also store a record of your consent choice (an __oaiq_consent cookie and an oaiq_consent item in local storage, for 30 days), short-lived session information in your browser's session storage, and a test cookie (__oaiq_domain_probe) that is deleted immediately. OpenAI does not publish full details of these items.
If you withdraw your consent, the pixel stops and its cookies on our website are deleted. For what happens to enquiries you have already sent, see our Privacy Policy.
Performance Cookies
These cookies are set by our hosting provider (Vercel) and help with website performance, load balancing, and security.
3. Third-Party Cookies
We may embed content from third-party services such as Google Maps. These services may set their own cookies. We do not control these cookies and recommend reviewing the relevant third-party privacy policies.
4. Managing Cookies
You can change or withdraw your choices for analytics and advertising measurement at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in our website footer.
You can also control and manage cookies in your browser. Most web browsers allow you to:
- View cookies: See what cookies are stored on your device
- Delete cookies: Remove some or all cookies
- Block cookies: Set your browser to prevent cookies from being placed
- Allow cookies: Whitelist specific websites
Please note that blocking all cookies may affect the functionality of this and many other websites. Clearing your browser's site data also removes the items stored in local storage.
